James Smith, Assistant Director, New York FBI field officetold Fox News Digital that the FBI has been tracking potential terrorist threats since the Israeli war began.
“Overall, yes, there it is.” It's a threat But we work every day to protect our communities,” Smith said.
The video was released in late December and begins with the Al Qaeda logo and a Quranic verse: “And fight in the way of Allah, and be accountable to no one but yourself…and inspire your followers.”
According to Atlas News, the video reportedly mentioned specific airlines, including American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, British Airways, EasyJet, Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

In the video, the group refers to itself and its mission as an “open source crusade.”
“TSA and DHS are in close and ongoing communication with all partners and will continue to monitor the situation and adjust safety measures as necessary,” the TSA statement said.
The FBI statement added that it is also working with various agencies to respond to the threat.
“We take all potential threats seriously and will continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners to determine their credibility, share information and take appropriate investigative actions.”
Before New Year's festivities began in New York, the FBI and other agencies staffed command posts to monitor events in the city.
