Federal judge blocks immigration raids at certain churches

A coalition of religious groups successfully suspended new rules under the Trump administration, allowing federal officials to enter the worship house to enforce immigration laws.

In response to lawsuits from groups of Quaker, Baptist and Sikh Church congregations, Obama-ordered federal judges in Maryland have come to Biden-era rules where the Trump administration controls immigration enforcement where plaintiffs worship. Chuan added that it is reasonable to expect the DHS to direct the plaintiff's congregations to enforce enforcement action given the plaintiff's openness in regards to services to the immigrant community.
