Felony Sexual Assault Charges Against Jackson Mahomes Dropped

Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, received some good news to start the new year after his worst assault charges in Kansas were dismissed.

Mahomes is accused of sexually assaulting the owner of Aspen's Restaurant and Lounge near Kansas City. He was arrested last May and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault and a fourth count of assault.

Video of the incident appears to show Jackson Mahomes forcibly kissing a woman identified as the restaurant owner.

Mahomes' attorney addressed the accusation, calling the video misleading.

“We have provided law enforcement with the tools and evidence necessary to evaluate the allegations against Mr. Jackson,” the statement said. “Every interaction between people needs to be placed in the proper context. Releasing a short clip of a video does not provide the proper context. We trust this process and We look forward to resolving the issue quickly.”

Still, the alleged victim in the case recently came to the fifth's defense and insisted she would not testify in any trial.

Prosecutors said they would proceed with the case anyway.

But while the misdemeanor charge of battery could still go to trial, prosecutors dropped three felony charges against the social media influencer and brother of the NFL star.
