Takeira Hester, 28, was at a hearing Thursday in an assault case for allegedly stabbing a 31-year-old man who tried to break up a fight between Hester and another woman on a Lower Manhattan train in 2022. Hester apparently made it to Philadelphia just two days later, where authorities said he was attacked twice with a knife.

Hester was released on $10,000 cash bail on February 28, 2023, according to state court officials.
