Authorities say a Colorado woman is facing criminal charges in connection with the death of her elderly mother by 54 dogs at her home.
Officials with the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office arrested 47-year-old Jessica Hoff on Friday. It's been more than a month since 76-year-old Lavonne Hoff was killed in a home she shared in Colorado.
Police said the victim suffered from dementia and “needing 24-hour care.”

On February 3rd, deputies from the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office responded to the unconscious woman's report. Officials found the 76-year-old dead and dozens of dogs “running at home” at the crime scene.
Autopsy results determined that the cause of the death of an elderly woman was injured during the attack of the dog.

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office statement“The sheriff's detective conducted extensive investigations and found out that Jessica Hoff had left her mother at home with her dog when she went to Pueblo to do business that day.”
Detectives determined that the dogs had killed their mother, who was attacked by dementia after her, at home alone.
Detectives executed a search warrant at the home and reportedly found 54 dogs and seven birds.
The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office said the dogs and birds were found to be “living in unsanitary conditions and some of the dogs are in poor health.”
The county animal agents later seized the dog, which was ignored.
Hoff is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
