Ferrari Unveils New 849 Testarossa Sportscar
Ferrari has rolled out its latest hybrid model, the 849 Testarossa Sportscar, honoring the iconic 1980s Testarossa. This new vehicle marks the completion of their hybrid range update.
The announcement came from Milan, where the company revealed its plug-in hybrid, all-wheel drive model that steps in to succeed the 2019 SF90 Stradale. Notably, the 849 also comes in a “spider” version featuring a retractable roof.
Under the hood, you’ll find a 4-liter, 8-cylinder turbo engine with a center-mounted position, boasting 830 horsepower. This is paired with three electric motors for a total output of 1,050 hp—about 50 more than its predecessor. Ferrari claims it can reach a top speed of 205 mph, or over 330 km/h.
The starting price is set at 460,000 euros (around $540,000) for the coupe and 500,000 euros for the Spider version. First deliveries are scheduled for clients in Europe during the second and third quarters of next year.
For U.S. customers, delivery is anticipated to begin in about three months, although the prices will likely be higher due to import duties.
Led by CEO Benedetto Vigna, Ferrari is making strides in launching new models and is preparing to showcase its first electric vehicle next month. Vigna has stated that the company will continue producing gasoline and hybrid cars alongside the electric option, marking a shift from Ferrari’s long-standing focus on petrol engines.
Earlier in April, Ferrari introduced a new hybrid special model along with its convertible variant, which are nearing the end of their lifecycle. This new release is based on the Hybrid 296 special and the earlier 2021 Ferrari 296.
Continuing its ambitious rollout, Ferrari also unveiled the all-petrol Amalfi Coupe in July, replacing the popular 2019 Rome as part of its entry-level lineup.
