Lexi Hull Named One of Glamour’s 2025 Women of the Year
Lexi Hull, a guard for the Indiana Fever, has been recognized as one of Glamour magazine’s 2025 Women of the Year.
Hull, who joined the Fever in 2022 after a standout career at Stanford University, was picked sixth overall in that year’s draft. Initially, she didn’t start many games and averaged around 12.8 points per game during her first season.
Her playing time increased significantly as Hull developed her skills. With the Fever selecting Caitlin Clark as the top pick in 2024, Hull’s role in the team’s offense expanded. By 2025, she averaged a career-high of 7.2 points per game and started in 30 out of 44 games under coach Stephanie White.
Hull has been part of the excitement surrounding Clark’s presence in the league, which has brought more attention and support to the Fever.
Competitive Spirit and Team Dynamics
Since 2024, the Fever have been involved in more intense matchups within the league. Recently, Hull mentioned a moment of tension during a game against the Connecticut Sun, noting the team feels they are under more scrutiny.
“I think there’s a certain amount of jealousy when it comes to the Fever because of the media attention and the fans that have come out for us since Caitlin has been here,” Hull remarked. “I heard players saying, ‘We’re not going to let the Fever win.’”
Despite that scrutiny, Hull sees a silver lining. “If having that extra motivation makes teams work harder against us, then that’s fine by me,” she added. “I think we all need a bit of that drive across the league.”
As she prepares for her fourth season, Hull faces the backdrop of ongoing negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement between the WNBA and the players’ union, as the current contract is set to expire soon.
