Caitlin Clark received a technical foul during the Indiana Fever’s 81-74 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday afternoon.
After forcing a turnover in the third quarter, Clark was dribbling down the court when Lynx forward Cecilia Zandarasini fouled her while trying to stop Clark’s momentum. The two tangled near half court, and as Clark tried to let go, Zandarasini slammed her, hitting her in the face.

Zandarasini suffered eye pain after being hit, after which WNBA referees reviewed the play and decided to give Clark a technical foul for “hostile conduct.”
The Fever rookie faces a one-game suspension for three more technical fouls.
Clark contributed to the win with 17 points and six assists, and also lost the ball six times, setting a new record for most turnovers in a season.

The enthusiastic support came from the crowd at Target Center, cheering on Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aaliyah Boston, with several fans even wearing Clark Iowa T-shirts.
“There were a lot of Fever fans there. They were cheering and going crazy,” Clark said. IndyStar“I know a lot of people cheered for me when I played at Iowa, and this is a great venue. The Target Center is awesome.”
“I remember when I was here in college, people would line up all night just to get in. People love women’s basketball. This city supports women’s basketball. Of course, the history here and the Lynx’s accomplishments. But I think there’s a little bit of magic here. Who knows. Good luck, we’ll be back.”
The win improves the Fever to 11-14 this season. The team only managed 13 wins last season.
