FIFA World Cup Winner Lionel Messi Credits God for His Successful Career

Soccer star and 2022 World Cup winner Lionel Messi recently attributed his soccer talent to God, saying:“It is very clear to me that I was born this way because God chose me,” Messi told Argentine podcaster Juan Pablo Valsky. “It was a gift he gave me. I tried to take advantage of it. I did everything to make the most of it. The truth is, I did a lot, but nothing to become the player I already was from an early age.”

Reports say Premier Christian NewsMessi has spoken about God in previous interviews, and after winning the World Cup last year he said he prayed for victory as a way to remember his time with the Argentina national team.

“I prayed to God, as I have done with everything in my life,” he said.

“Especially at that time… I didn’t ask my grandmother or Diego. [Maradona]But I prayed to God, as I always do.”

“I knew and I felt that God had something in store for me. It was a special moment, almost the end of my career and closing the circle on my professional career,” he continued.

“I thank him every day of my life for this and everything he’s always given me. I couldn’t ask for anything more because I have everything because of him,” he explained.

Messi, who turned 37 on Monday, is currently playing for Argentina in the Copa America in the United States.

Reports say ESPNHe admitted that he wasn’t aware of his own skill level when he was younger. He started playing for local club Newell’s Old Boys before joining Barcelona’s youth team at the age of 13.

“From what has been said, I have always been different,” said the 2022 World Cup winner. “People came to watch me. I didn’t realise it, but as I got older I started to realise it. I’m not sure what the moment was when I realised it.”

“When I was three or four years old, I didn’t know about the World Cup and all the titles that were held there. I just played because I loved the ball… it was my hobby. I spent all my time kicking a ball around. [the ball] “I was looking for someone to play with. I have a natural talent for football. Like most Argentines, I’ve loved football since I was a child. I’ve always wanted to have fun, from the very beginning.”

He is now considered the greatest soccer player of all time, having won a record eight Ballon d’Or awards and his 44th trophy by helping Inter Miami win the 2023 League Cup in August.
