Funeral Brawl for Joshua Allen
Disturbing video captured a chaotic scene at the funeral of Joshua Allen, a star from *So You Think You Can Dance*, as a full-scale brawl erupted over his open casket.
On November 8, a young woman was filmed leaning over the coffin while an older woman attempted to pull her away. Tensions escalated as other attendees got involved, leading to a physical altercation.
Police in Fort Worth received two calls regarding the incident, and after their second visit, they stayed to monitor the situation until the funeral concluded. The woman seen in the video leaning on the casket, whose identity has stirred controversy, was discussed widely online.
Footage included numerous police officers mingling among grieving attendees.
The aftermath created a rift within Allen’s family. His father, Eddie Powell, claimed that the woman by the casket was Joshua’s girlfriend, while his mother, Angela Tolbert, alleged she was assaulted by a family member when she tried to leave a note for her son.
“She was his emotional support,” Powell stated. He mentioned that she had been instrumental in trying to get Joshua mental health treatment before police intervened on his behalf. According to him, she had dreams of marrying Joshua.
Powell defended her presence at the funeral, stating she had received “direct permission” from Joshua’s mother to attend. “She came in peace and showed nothing but grace,” he added.
Interestingly, some funeral attendees claimed online that the alleged victim was actually Allen’s ex-girlfriend.
Due to the altercation, Powell chose to leave before the service concluded. Reports indicate that Joshua had struggled with mental health issues for a significant period leading up to his tragic death.
The particulars surrounding the incident remain unclear, with the identity of the alleged victim undisclosed.
Joshua Allen was fatally struck by a train on September 30, at the age of 36. He gained fame as the winner of Season 4 of *So You Think You Can Dance*, with Stephen “Tucci” Boss taking second place. Allen also featured in *Step Up 3D* and the 2011 remake of *Footloose*.
TMZ reported that no arrests were made following the incident at the funeral.
