Finally! Biden to Visit Site of East Palestine, Ohio, Train Derailment

The White House announced Wednesday that President Joe Biden will visit East Palestine, Ohio, to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the catastrophic train derailment.

Biden will meet with residents affected by the derailment and the toxic chemicals that subsequently leaked into the community, Bloomberg News reported. report.

The White House said Biden will address the administration’s progress working with state and local leaders to protect communities and hold people accountable for their actions in Norfolk South.

At the time of the incident, Biden was heavily criticized for not making a single visit to the community in the weeks and months following the Feb. 3, 2023, disaster.

On February 8, residents were finally given permission to return to their homes, but toxic PVC gas was released and burned, sending black smoke over the town for days.

Upon his return, he was greeted by President Donald Trump, who visited East Palestine after the accident, and delivered truckloads of bottled water to residents.

“President Trump has met with the people of East Palestine and will never forget them and what they are going through. Compare that to Biden and the federal government, which failed from the beginning,” Trump’s spokesperson said. Stephen Chan told Breitbart News at the time.

As Breitbart reported, by September of last year, Biden had promised to go to East Palestine in March after a train derailment released toxic chemicals and polluted the village’s air and water. He claimed that he had “never had the opportunity” to go to East Palestine, even though he had done so. The news reported.

Earlier this month, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if there were still plans for President Biden to visit East Palestine, Ohio. “The president will visit when it is most beneficial to the community,” she told reporters.
