The Buffalo Sabers are gearing up to carry their success into the 2025-26 season.
With the 2026-2027 schedule now released, fans can anticipate what Rasmus Dahlin and the team will face ahead. It’s going to take some effort to replicate last year’s performance.
Key matchups on this year’s calendar include a home game at KeyBank Center against Connor Bedard’s Chicago Blackhawks on October 3, a faceoff with former captain Jack Eichel’s Las Vegas Golden Knights on November 8, and games against Igor Shesterkin’s New York Rangers on November 25 and Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins on November 27. There’s also the rematch against the Montreal Canadiens on December 18. You might recall that they eliminated the Sabers in the playoffs last year.
As for 2027, fans can look forward to matches against the reigning Stanley Cup champions Carolina Hurricanes on January 9, the Colorado Avalanche led by Nathan MacKinnon on January 14, and Gavin McKenna’s Toronto Maple Leafs on February 27. The Sabers will also play a second game against the Maple Leafs on March 25, concluding the season against the Detroit Red Wings on April 10.

About the Buffalo Sabers 2025-26 season
From 2025 to 2026, the Sabers really turned things around.
After a long 15-year stretch without playoffs, the team won the Atlantic Division and made it to the postseason.
In the first round, they managed to beat the Boston Bruins 4-2. They hadn’t reached the Eastern Conference semifinals since 2007.
Unfortunately, they faced disappointment against the Montreal Canadiens, losing a tough seven-game series, with Game 7 ending 3-2 in overtime.
“It’s frustrating,” said goalkeeper Ukko-Pekka Lukkonen. “It really is. It’s disappointing.”
Tage Thompson expressed similar sentiments: “We fought hard all year to reach this point. I think everyone in this room knows we aren’t finished yet. Just really bummed about it. It sucks.”
