Khan I took Bannon to the beginning of a walk with God and explained it five years ago in a conversation about life with a Nashville songwriter Michael Farrenthe son of a Baptist preacher ended with what Farren said. Khan“You know, you speak like a Christian.” Khanhe said he asked, he was not exposed to the faith or religion that grew up in Los Angeles. Farren What that means. “You have a seeker's heart.” Farren “You can say you long for something more,” he replied.
“So I hid it.” Khan I said. “I started talking more with people about God and faith. I was the first time in my life that I started going to church, and I loved what it did for me.
Khan He told Bannon how he began to realize the “funny things” going on in his life. “People are back in my life that I have never seen in years.” Khan I explained it. “My ex-girlfriend, the screenwriter, hasn't spoken to her in 15 years. She says, 'I'm writing a script about faith. I want you to read it.' ”
Those conversations about faith were happening. Interesting events continued to occur. And the same Khan He was aware of how his life was changing, a close friend told him, “I've never seen him chase someone like him chasing you. He has his fingerprints above you.”
Khan He says, “I drove it away and think about it, that's the name of the song.”
“fingerprint” Khan “It was originally about my quest for my faith and the journey I was on, and it was ready for about a year and a half. “Fighter” And that was given priority. I didn't release it “fingerprint” Because I was very used to faith. I didn't want to go to an area where I felt like I was stepping on a place I wasn't part of. And in many conversations with people, they said you wouldn't have those words in the song unless God wanted you. ”
Now, a few years after his journey of faith, a year and a half after writing “fingerprint” Khan You will survive a season of great losses.
“After writing the song, I had a series of really rough times,” he told Bannon. “I broke up with my girlfriend and my mother passed away. My dad collapsed, had surgery, and my house was burned out.”
Bannon wondered if the difficulties, the loss of a loved one, and the fire had rattled. Khan's I was wondering about a new faith and that he “There may be no God, or if he was just God, God would not have done this to me.”
“I wasn't thinking about that.” Khan I said. “I had a strange peace about it.”
“I spent six weeks on my father's couch.” Khan Remembering, right after the Palisade fire that completely destroyed his house. “My father is not a believer. He and I have always been very close. We've come close in the last few years. He's now 93. About four weeks after the fire, I was still trying to deal with what had happened to him.
“So there was always a little push and pull.” Khan I said. “One day I walked through his bedroom and said, and I thought it was a pretty big moment for him and me.”
“I never lost faith and I always had the peace that things were going well.” Khan I said. “And I figured out the best time to release a song like this rather than in the middle of the storm.”

“That story really stuck to me.” Khan I said. “So when you're on a journey like this, you look for good. It allows you to identify the energy you don't want to be around, people you don't want to be around on the same journey.
