Firefighter Arrested for Suspected Murder of Wife
A Glendale firefighter is suspected of murdering his wife with an ax, allegedly discovering her infidelity shortly before the tragic event at their North Hollywood home, according to his attorney.
Attorney Jose Romero, representing Andrew Jimenez, confirmed that he was hired by the firefighter’s family for the ongoing murder case. In a statement, Romero indicated that they are currently communicating with law enforcement about the victim’s diary, which seems to confirm her cheating and was reportedly consulted just prior to the incident.
Romero specifically mentioned that Jimenez, a veteran of the Pacific Palisades Fires, is under their representation. However, no further details about the diary’s content have been disclosed yet.
Jimenez, 45, was taken into custody early Wednesday after he called the Los Angeles Police Department for a welfare check on his wife. Responding officers arrived at their apartment complex on Satsuma Boulevard to find his wife deceased and covered in blood.
It has been suggested that she suffered fatal injuries from repeated blows with an ax, as reported. The police have not publicly confirmed Jimenez’s identity or the specific charges he might face.
Social media images reveal that Jimenez married Maira López Jimenez in November 2014, capturing moments of affection between them. Before her untimely passing, Maira was working as an ordained minister for a wedding company. In a notable career milestone, Andrew Jimenez was recently promoted to firefighter by the Glendale Fire Department.
A woman identifying herself as Jimenez’s aunt shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, posting a photo of him with his diploma in front of a firetruck, expressing hopes for divine protection and guidance in his life.
