Tiffany Stratton’s latest attempt at the ceremonial first pitch at CIT Field took a humorous turn Monday night, thanks to a cameo by WWE rivals. The scene was quite the spectacle as Stratton found herself interrupted by Nia Jax, with Mr. and Mrs. Met involved, all donning wrestling gear.
This was Stratton’s second attempt at the first pitch; she had already thrown one last month before a game against the Nationals.
During WWE night, as she prepared again, Nia Jax made her move. The two engaged in a playful tussle, reminiscent of what fans might see on WWE broadcasts, shoving each other in a friendly yet competitive manner.
Jax managed to take the upper hand and led Stratton away from the mound, with Mr. Met joining in to break up the playful scuffle as they went off the field.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Met accompanied Stratton, wrapping her arms around the WWE star. The playful chaos made for an amusing spectacle, as Stratton, the reigning WWE Women’s Champion, found herself in a lighthearted confrontation.
The Mets mascots really got into the spirit, dressing up to resemble the wrestlers. Fans in attendance were treated to a comedic sight with altered player headshots displayed on the stadium’s video board—Juan Soto’s face humorously placed on the Undertaker’s body.
This festive WWE night came just ahead of Summerslam, set to take place at MetLife Stadium on August 2nd and 3rd, where Stratton will defend her championship title as part of the two-night celebration.
