On Sunday evening, five individuals, including a suspected shooter, were injured in an incident outside a bar in Cleveland, Ohio, around 6:15 PM. The event unfolded in the 1000 block of West 10th Avenue, situated in the crowded Flats area near the waterfront.
According to the Cleveland Police Department, early findings indicate that the gunfire stemmed from a dispute at a nearby bar. They mentioned that an argument inside the establishment escalated and spilled out into the streets, resulting in multiple shots fired.
Cleveland firefighters were already in the vicinity due to the high number of patrons at local bars when they received reports of the shooting. Interestingly, firefighters also expressed that they heard the gunfire.
Police arrived shortly after and assisted the five victims, one of whom is thought to be the suspect. The Cleveland Emergency Medical Services took all five individuals to the hospital, but their identities were not disclosed immediately.
While no arrests were made public on that evening, authorities noted that the investigation is ongoing with more updates expected as they become available.
In a recent incident in July, the situation in Lorraine, Ohio, escalated further when three police officers were injured and one fatally shot during an encounter in the area.
Responses from Cleveland’s Fire Department have not been provided at this time.
