Flamengo Tops Chelsea in Club World Cup Match
In a thrilling clash in Philadelphia, Flamengo staged an impressive comeback to defeat Chelsea 3-1 in the Club World Cup Group D match on Friday. This victory marks Flamengo’s second straight win in the Brazilian tournament, with goals from Bruno Henrique, Danilo, and Wallace Yang leading the charge.
Chelsea initially took the lead thanks to an early goal from Pedro Neto. However, they missed several chances to build on that advantage, which allowed Flamengo to rally back and seize the momentum.
Bruno Henrique and Danilo scored within three minutes of each other, netting goals in the 62nd and 65th minutes, respectively. Unfortunately for Chelsea, a red card was issued shortly after for a dangerous challenge.
Flamengo capped off their victory with a goal from Yang in the 83rd minute, solidifying their top position in Group D with six points from two matches, while Chelsea stands second with three points from three matches.
In contrast, both Esperance de Tunis and Los Angeles FC are yet to secure any points, leaving room for competitive matches ahead.
