California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom has lost his party on a highly controversial issue. He admits he believes he is “deeply unfair” for biological men who identify as trans women and girls' sports as trans women.

The statement was made by Newsom in the first episode of his podcast. “This is Gavin Newsom.” We featured conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
Kirk is co-founder and executive director of Turning Point USA, an organization that promotes conservative politics on college and high school campuses.
Last month, the governor announced a new podcast, pledging a candid discussion with Democratic officials and “the biggest leader and architect of the Magazine movement.”
Newsom and Kirk had an incredibly heartfelt exchange in their first episode aired on Thursday. At one point, Newsom called on Kirk for guidance on the Democratic Party.
“Get better ideas, Governor,” replied Kirk. “You, now, you come out and say, 'What do you know? A young man trying to win a state championship with a long jump in women's sports – that shouldn't happen.” You should say “No” and say “No.” ”
Kirk mentioned last month's victory in the women's triple jump competition in California. He pushed Newsom to express his thoughts on whether biological male athletes think it's fair to compete with biological female athletes.
“I think it's a matter of fairness. I totally agree with you about it,” Newsom said. “It's a matter of fairness. It's deeply unfair.”
As the 2028 Democratic presidential candidate, Newsom is the most well-known Democrat because this latest podcast episode has been released and openly gazes down or opposes transgender athletes competing in women's and girls' sports.
As Republicans regained control of both the Congressional Room and the White House following the November election, lawmakers Tom Suzzy (DN.Y.) and Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) were the only notable Democrats who disciplined the party for widespread support of competing biological men in women's sports.
Then, in January, Texas Democrats Vicente Gonzalez and Henry Culler, surprisingly joined Republicans, banning transgender-identifying men from participating in female and girl sports.
Senate Democrats prevented the same bill from moving forward earlier this week.
According to February New York Times/IPSOS Survey, 79% of Americans believe that trans athletes, particularly biological men, should not be allowed to play in female and girl sports.
Meanwhile, skeptical social media users cried out to respond to Newsom's “sudden change of heart.”
