Flock of birds butchered by plane propellers in Alaska

A small propeller plane crashed into a flock of birds during takeoff in Alaska, leaving a gruesome blood stain all over its hull.

According to the report, Mark Schwantes, a big game hunter and commercial fishing captain, was preparing to leave on a bushplane for Alaska's capital, Anchorage, on September 26th when he encountered He said he noticed a flock of willow grouse birds. From SWNS.

“Usually it scatters when the plane takes off, but this time it lingered a little too long,” the 48-year-old told the magazine.

“As we were about to take off into the air, about six planes came flying in front of us and hit the propeller.”

The unflappable pilot said he kept calm and knew his plane could withstand the bloody impact.

The plane continued its flight without any noticeable damage, but was splattered with blood, brains and feathers from a flock of grouse.

“I was very surprised because I've never had anything like this happen in my previous bush takeoffs,” Schwantes told SWNS. “That’s just one of the things you might see here.”
