Investigation Launched into Fauci by Florida Attorney General
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has announced an investigation into Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former chief medical adviser to the White House, following a tense Senate hearing.
Uthmeier expressed concerns about Fauci’s reluctance to address questions posed by lawmakers during the hearing, sharing his thoughts in a social media update.
“Fauci’s lack of candor to Congress is unbelievable,” Uthmeier stated. “My office is launching an investigation into Dr. Fauci. It’s past time we get the truth of what happened during COVID.”
During the hearing, Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment over a hundred times when Republican senators pressed him on issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic and its origins.
This hearing came in the wake of Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) publishing over 1,000 pages of his private diary entries from the pandemic, which seem to show inconsistencies between Fauci’s public statements about the virus’s impact and information he shared privately.
In a statement, Uthmeier detailed the objectives of his office’s investigation.
“Based on recent revelations from Senator Rand Paul, we will look into any potential violations of Florida law connected to Anthony Fauci,” Uthmeier explained. “Our inquiry will focus on what Fauci knew, when he knew it, and how he misled the American public. We’ll also assess any physical and financial harms that may have affected Floridians due to his actions and whether he may be liable under state law.”
Interestingly, in a 2020 diary entry, Fauci suggested a lower COVID-19 death rate than what he reported to Congress shortly after, among other inconsistencies. Some interpret these variations as indicative of changing data, while others see them as misleading.
On The Benny Show recently, Uthmeier mentioned plans to gather files from Congress, indicating a proactive approach.
“I look forward to collaborating with Senator Rand Paul. He’s keen on holding accountable those involved,” he stated, suggesting subpoenas might be issued soon.
