Florida cop charged with engaging in sexual activity with ‘intoxicated’ teen in his home

A Florida police officer was arrested by his department on Monday after he allegedly gave alcohol to an underage girl and then flirted with the intoxicated girl whom investigators found in his home.

The Tallahassee Police Department said former officer Danny Moore, 26, met the underage girl on an app and arranged to meet her in a shopping center parking lot. News Release.

Police said Moore then took the minor to a nearby liquor store, where he bought her alcohol and took her to his apartment where he engaged in sexual acts.

Authorities said they responded to Jackson Square Apartments Monday evening to investigate a report of a suspected underage intoxicated individual.

Police said Moore gave officers his name but lied about his age and occupation, then admitted the girl was inside his apartment. Officers then found the minor, who appeared to be intoxicated, and transported her to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators arrested Moore and later discovered he was a police officer with the police department.

Police said Moore, who joined the police force in July 2023, was fired effective immediately.

“The men and women who protect and serve our community must adhere to the highest standards of the law,” said Police Chief Lawrence Revell.

“Officer misconduct is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” he added. “All of our officers are sworn to protect this community, and all will be held accountable for actions that do not comply with TPD's core values, departmental policies and Florida law.”

Moore is charged with indecent assault, indecent molestation, lewd conduct and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police said the case remains under investigation and he could face additional charges.
