A man convicted of murdering two Florida women in 2019 was sentenced to death on Tuesday, according to reports.
Wade Wilson, who sports a tattoo that shares a name with a Marvel Comics character and is known as the “Deadpool Killer,” showed no emotion as the judge imposed his sentence. The New York Post reported.
The 30-year-old man was convicted. Christine Melton was strangled He met Diane Lewis in a bar, beat her and strangled her while she was sleeping the morning after, and then ran her over with his car when he saw her on the street later that same day.
“The evidence shows the murders were heinous, brutal and cruel, and the second murder was cold-blooded, premeditated and planned,” Circuit Judge Nicholas Thompson said during the sentencing, agreeing with the jury's recommendation for two death sentences, one for each murder.

During the trial, the defense tried to argue that Wilson suffered from a “disordered mind” and the “disease of drug addiction.” Local television station FOX4.
According to local media, the defense filed a motion for a retrial or acquittal on July 3, but the judge rejected the motion on August 15. The News-Press reported.

The sentencing was originally scheduled for July 23 but was postponed due to a defense motion regarding the scheduling of expert testimony.
“This is not the end. It will be the end when he takes his last breath and I will be there for the execution. That's my promise,” said Felix Lewis, Lewis' father.
