Florida Gators vs. Ole Miss Rebels Game Recap

After a highly charged game against Ole Miss’s former coach Lane Kiffin and LSU, the Rebels headed to Florida to face the Gators. While the emotional stakes might not have been as high this time, facing the No. 21 team in the nation always presents a challenge, especially with Ole Miss ranked No. 4.

From the onset, Florida took charge of the game. Running back Jadan Baugh kicked things off with a short touchdown run, followed by kicker Patrick Durkin, who added the extra point and later secured a field goal for the Gators.

Ole Miss managed to break their scoring drought with a pair of field goals in the second quarter, but Florida wasn’t done. Baugh rushed in for another touchdown, sending the Gators into halftime with a comfortable 17-6 lead.

The second half saw a surge in offensive action. Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss found the end zone with a rushing touchdown on the team’s first drive post-halftime. Yet, Florida quickly countered with a touchdown from running back Duke Clark.

The Gators excelled on the ground, amassing a total of 302 rushing yards. Both Baugh and Clark topped the 100-yard mark, marking the first occasion since 2022 that two Gators achieved this in a single game.

Throughout the match, Florida maintained control and notably pulled away during the fourth quarter, culminating in a passing touchdown during one of their seven trips to the red zone.

This Florida offense has been impressive, scoring more than 50 points in nearly every game this season—except for their previous encounter against Auburn, where they settled for only 44. With this victory over Ole Miss, a top-5 team, Florida is sure to climb up the rankings.

Looking ahead, the Gators will next prepare for a matchup against the No. 19 Missouri Tigers, while Ole Miss will seek to regroup in their upcoming game against Vanderbilt.
