A Florida sheriff’s deputy is credited with saving the life of his partner, a kindergartener through 9th grader, after the dog jumped over a bridge railing and was “likely to die!!” authorities announced on Thursday.
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said in a Facebook post that K-9 Deputy Lauren Donaldson was on the 528 causeway when the Zeppelin suddenly jumped over the bridge guardrail and fell off the bridge 75 feet above the water. He said he was there.

Seconds later, she was seen pulling the K-9 over the guardrail to safety as the dog wagged its tail.
“There is no doubt that without Loren’s quick action, the Zeppelin would have fallen approximately 75 feet into the Indian River, possibly resulting in death!!” the sheriff’s office wrote.
