Florida fishermen caught more than 55 pounds of cocaine worth more than $1.7 million, making it a record catch.
of Brevard County Sheriff's Office is currently conducting its own search effort to return lost loot found along the county's Atlantic coast to its rightful owner.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey shared the bizarre discovery on social media on Monday, seeking to identify the rightful owner of the 25 kilograms of cocaine that “apparently fell off the back of someone's boat while they were enjoying a leisurely stroll.” I tried jokingly. Brevard County's beautiful coastline and beaches! ”
Ivy said in a cheeky post that the grateful fisherman wanted to do the right thing and contacted the agency after discovering the drug, which was distinctively stamped with a scorpion logo and a waterproof seal.
“So if 25 kilograms of coke is yours, all we have to do is come to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation building on Gas Hip Boulevard in Rockledge and give you yours, absolutely unconditionally. All you have to do is claim the property,” Ivey said.
As an added bonus, the Sheriff's Office is offering owners a unique incentive for an all-expenses paid staycation at “Ivy's Iron Bar Lodge.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brevard County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit at 321-264-5201.
