This week, ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky and Florida Gators’ head coach John Sumrall found themselves discussing a rather unexpected offseason topic: pedicures.

Yes, you read that right. Pedicure.

Last week, Sumrall’s wife shared that her husband has a bit of a secret fascination with pedicures. Apparently, he considers them his “favorite thing” and keeps up with them about every two weeks during the season.

Initially, I figured this interview wouldn’t attract much buzz, especially given everything else happening in the sports world.

Turns out, I was mistaken.

This week on ESPN’s Get Up, Orlovsky sparked outrage by declaring his strong opposition to men getting pedicures.

“You’re a fool. You shouldn’t get a pedicure. I’m completely against this. I’d rather have bad feet than get a pedicure,” he stated, making his views crystal clear.

Everyone has their opinion, right? Orlovsky certainly made his known. In the meantime, Sumrall seemed to respond humorously on social media, providing some memorable content for Orlovsky to contend with. It’s unclear how Orlovsky will bounce back from that.

I’ll admit, I momentarily forgot about some of Orlovsky’s past antics. For those who don’t keep track of ESPN closely (which I hope you do), there’s an old clip of him on “First Take” where he, for reasons unknown, sniffed co-host Molly Kerim’s shoes live on air.

Yes, you read that correctly.

What a moment that was—definitely not one for the books but still something folks remember.

How does Orlovsky make that comment on pedicures, knowing that clip still exists? Honestly, if I were in his shoes, I think I’d be more cautious about discussing anything related to feet.

Better to just stay quiet, keep your head down, and hope no one digs that footage up.

On a side note, I happen to disagree with Orlovsky. I know a couple of guys who get pedicures (okay, just two), and while it’s not a common topic, it doesn’t strike me as the craziest thing either. It really comes down to locker room culture. If you mention getting a pedicure there, yeah, you might catch some flak, even if others are doing the same.

The reality is, locker rooms can be judgmental places.

As for the Gators this season? Honestly, I’m a bit skeptical—they seem average after the past decade, but hey, I could be wrong.

The dynamic between Sumrall and Orlovsky is certainly lively, and given how things have been at the university lately, a shake-up is probably just what’s needed.
