A Florida man has been charged with the violent murder of a man at a Florida golf course earlier this week.
Junior Boucher, 36, is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing 65-year-old Brian Hiltebeitel on the first hole of Sandhill Crane Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens on Monday afternoon. Ta.
Boucher is accused of “maliciously” attacking Hiltebeitel with his golf club and causing him to drown in a pond. According to WPTV.
“Once Mr. Boucher entered the water, he jumped on top of Mr. Hiltebritel and appeared to be strangling him,” the witness told police. According to TMZ. Boucher then got off the immobile Hiltebritel, picked up a golf club and hit him in the head multiple times. ”
Witnesses told police that Hiltebritel repeatedly yelled that Boucher was “trying to kill me!”
Boucher followed Hiltebritel to a pond, where Boucher jumped on top of the victim and “appeared to strangle him,” police said.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Boucher naked and running away.
When he did not stop, police said they used an “electronically controlled weapon” to subdue him.
Police said Hiltebritel suffered a “deep laceration to the back of the head” and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The attack seemed to be random.
“At this time, we do not believe Mr. Boucher had a legitimate purpose for being at the golf course,” Palm Beach Gardens Police Chief Dominic Pape told reporters Tuesday. “This appears to be a random act of violence in which Boucher used the victim's golf club as a weapon and violently attacked and ultimately killed the victim.”
Boucher was denied bail in court on Tuesday and ordered to have no contact with witnesses and to possess weapons.
