Milwaukee Brewers Head to the World Series

The Milwaukee Brewers are making their way to the World Series after a strong performance in the NLCS, where they swept the Los Angeles Dodgers. They managed to come back from an early four-run deficit, marking their first pennant win in 44 years.

Now, Milwaukee stands only four wins away from securing their first World Series title in franchise history. But, you know, the team’s history might have a bit more depth than it initially appears.

Brewers Triumph Over Dodgers in Game Four

The Brewers officially marked the end of the Dodgers’ era with a thrilling comeback in Game Four, finishing with a 6-4 victory to complete the sweep.

Interestingly, the last time the Brewers reached the Fall Classic, Bill Zito, who is now the Florida Panthers’ general manager, was a bat boy for the team. It’s a bit amusing to think about — Zito, who helped shape the Panthers into back-to-back Stanley Cup champions in 2024 and 2025, was just a high school kid back then, cheering on the Brewers.

In an interview, Zito shared how much of an impact the Brewers’ then-manager, Harry Dalton, had on his life and career. He mentioned, “He took me under his wing. It was the 1982 Brewers, who went to Game 7 of the World Series. He was so kind to me and afforded me the opportunity. I could go up to his office whenever I wanted, I could learn scouting. He took the time to explain everything to me and always encouraged me to get into the management side.”

It’s pretty remarkable how influential mentors can be, right? It seems like Zito’s touch has turned everything he gets involved with into success. So, honestly, it wouldn’t hurt the Brewers to invite him back as an honorary bat boy or at least have him throw out a ceremonial first pitch during the series.

If that moment leads to the Brewers winning The Commissioner’s Trophy, well, you could definitely add that to Zito’s already impressive list of achievements.

And, just think — if the NHL gives him that long-awaited GM of the Year award, he might just be on a roll.
