Police say the shooting investigation remains ongoing and are asking the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the identification of the shooter.

The rapper’s lawyer said in a press release that the rapper was staying at the Airbnb over the weekend to celebrate his birthday, but was asked to leave because he exceeded the occupancy limit.
“Jones was in Tampa over the weekend celebrating his birthday. According to police reports, he initially stayed at an Airbnb but was asked to leave for exceeding occupancy limits, then relocated to a Holiday Inn where he was involved in an incident in the hotel parking lot and reportedly ambushed,” Fusco said.
“These incidents involving our client, Charles Jones, have been disclosed by law enforcement and we cannot comment further at this time until additional details are public record. We ask that the privacy of Mr. Jones and his family be respected during this difficult time,” he added.
The rapper was involved in a shooting in November 2021, with bullets hitting his body, but he survived.
