Florida Republicans Boast over 850K Voter-Registration Advantage

Recent data shows that Republicans in Florida have an overwhelming lead in voter registration over Democrats.

According to Florida’s Voice: saw As of early March, Florida Republicans led Democrats with 854,318 registered voters, according to county-level voter registration data. This is important because it shows that Florida Republicans have not lost momentum since overtaking Democrats in November 2021.

At the time, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) said, “When I was elected governor, there were 280,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans in Florida.”

“Today, and it will probably be fully publicized soon, for the first time in the history of Florida, we have overtaken the Democratic Party,” he said at the news conference. “Florida has more registered Republicans than Democrats.”

That lead has continued to grow over the years, as Breitbart News chronicles:

From that moment on, Republicans only expanded their lead, and by March 2022, just a few months later, they had over 100,000 more voters than Democrats. That number doubled to 200,000 in July, and by December 2022, the number was around 350,000. By February 2023, Republicans outnumbered Democrats in registered voters by 400,000, and that number had ballooned to 680,030. As of October 31, 2023, there are 5,153,695 Republican voters and 4,473,665 Democratic voters.

According to Florida’s Voice, Florida Republican Party Chairman Evan Power said the grassroots is “doing everything in its power to register more voters every day.”

Breitbart News spoke to the Republican National Committee (RNC) about this phenomenon in December, months before a leadership shakeup within the organization. At the time, the RNC announced that Republican voter registration in the Sunshine State had nearly doubled in 2023, while also noting that the number of nonpartisan political parties (NPAs) in Florida had decreased by 413,763 people in the same year. . According to the RNC, many of these specific voters have switched to the Republican Party.

Former RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel told Breitbart that “not only did the state of Florida flip from blue to red, but the Republican Party was able to do so thanks to a year-long persistent ground campaign and the strength of Republican policies. We continue to grow historic voter registration numbers,” he said in a statement to Breitbart. News at that time.

“While Mr. Biden’s weakness continues to cause crises in our economy, at our borders, and around the world, Floridians and all Americans are finding solutions in the Republican Party,” he added.
