A man executed in Florida on Thursday for murder used his last words to voice support for President Trump while also offering comfort to both his family and the families of his victims.
“President Trump, I’m keeping America great. I’m ready to go,” stated Glenn Rogers, 62, just before he received a lethal injection for the murder of 34-year-old Tina Marie Cribbs, whom he fatally stabbed three decades ago.
Hailing from Ohio, Rogers earned nicknames like the “Casanova Killer” and “Cross-Country Killer” due to his alleged involvement in multiple murders across the United States.
According to a report from Tampa Bay Times and the Associated Press, a media witness present during the execution highlighted Rogers’ endorsement of Trump.
The White House has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the matter.
Witnesses reportedly found Rogers’ mention of Trump puzzling.
Randy Roberson, who attended the execution because of his mother’s murder, remarked, “It was like, ‘Where did it come from?'” in comments to USA Today.
Rogers was also found guilty of strangling Sandra Gallagher, a mother of three he met at a bar, and he was suspected in several other killings. His statements suggest a history of involvement in at least four murders, possibly as many as 70.
“I know there are a lot of questions you need answers,” he told the witnesses before praising Trump. “I promise that my questions will be answered in the near future.”
