Florida Sheriff Grady Judd blasts squatters as ‘dopers and freeloaders,’ warns they’re in for a ‘one-way ride to the county jail’

Grady Judd, a no-nonsense Florida sheriff, belittled the squatters as “a bunch of dopers and freeloaders” and told his haters that if they behaved strangely in his way, “they would be sent to the county jail.” It will be a one-way street,” he warned. ”

Judd, who heads the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, spoke with FOX News’ Lawrence Jones on Monday morning after Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill last week to remove squatters. I sent the following message:

In fact, Judd told Jones that past police actions in Polk County had already made life difficult for squatters. “We’ve never had that problem because we go to the house and decide, ‘We don’t know who the real owner is.'” People aren’t signing contracts. ” ”

Judd told Jones, “It’s always been like that in this county. Every time they come out of jail, they blow smoke on us and leave, and they Had disappeared.I mean, they’re gone fast Because we don’t put up with it, that’s the point, Lawrence. Across this country, if you’re tired of it, do something about it.” Judd also said crime is at its lowest level in Polk in 50 years.

When Jones asked Judd if he had any advice for homeowners in other parts of the country to avoid the “crises” that have been making headlines recently, the sheriff didn’t mince words.

“It doesn’t have to be a civil transaction. When someone breaks into your home, whether you were home at the time or not, it could have been for sale or you could have been on a cruise around the world. “But for whatever reason, your property will be empty. People have no right to move in, turn on the lights, change the locks and claim it as their own.” said. It’s a robbery. It’s theft of your property. It’s trespassing. Use current laws to arrest and lock them up. ”

It’s much tougher for homeowners seeking compensation for money spent removing squatters, Judd acknowledged: “You can sue, but you can’t get blood out of a turnip. They have nothing. How little money they have.”

Homeowners have had enough.

As Blaze News readers already know, police recently arrested the owner of a million-dollar home in New York City for allegedly changing the locks of a squatter and charged him with unlawful eviction.

Apparently, out of anger over this incident, two men showed up at the house shortly after to “try to kick this guy out”.

Meanwhile, a Venezuelan immigrant created a viral video encouraging undocumented immigrants to find vacant homes and become squatters. If the house is unoccupied, we can occupy it. ”

And an Atlanta man fought for years to evict dozens of squatters from his property, spending thousands of dollars on cleanup and actually being sued for $190,000.

Additionally, members known as the “Squatter Squad” were seen on a recent video confronting more than a dozen squatters at a Los Angeles-area home, kicking down the door and forcing many to pack up. Since then, it has attracted wide attention.
