Florida Girl Arrested for Assaulting Police Cruiser

A 15-year-old girl in Florida has been charged with a felony after she viciously struck a police cruiser with a metal shovel. The incident occurred on November 3 in a suburban area of Port St. Lucie, where police had responded to a disturbance at her family home, according to officials.

Body camera footage from the Port St. Lucie Police Department captures a scene where a boy approaches an officer sitting in his patrol car. The footage shows her repeatedly hitting vehicles, and interestingly, it seems she had no prior run-ins with law enforcement.

As the officer exited his vehicle, he exclaimed, “Are you kidding me?” He then drew his Taser and commanded the teenager to drop the shovel.

In the footage, the boy pointed the Taser at her while she mistreated the officer’s property before finally discarding the shovel. Despite this, she tried to walk away from the situation, prompting an officer to step in and direct her back.

The officer quietly but firmly instructed her to return to the scene, then turned her around, made her kneel on the sidewalk, and placed her in handcuffs.

Authorities reported that the 15-year-old girl has been charged with felony criminal mischief, accused of causing over $1,200 in damage to the cruiser. In a statement, the police department emphasized that anyone, regardless of their age, who intentionally damages property within the city would be apprehended.

It’s still not clear what prompted the police intervention at Chance’s home or what led her to attack the cruiser, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding this bizarre event.

Back on September 15, officers responded to a call about a suspicious individual. When they arrived, the 36-year-old man charged at them with a shovel, resulting in a tragic confrontation.
