An elderly Tampa woman allegedly shot and killed her roommate because she “didn’t clean up after herself,” police said.
Patricia Whitehead, 71, is charged with one count of first-degree premeditated felony murder, according to Hillsborough County court records.
Tampa Police said in a press release that officers responded to a report of a shooting at a home on E. 26th Street around 9:28 a.m. Thursday, where they found a man with a gunshot wound in his upper body. He later died from his injuries at a nearby hospital.

“Through the investigation, detectives were able to determine that the suspect, 71-year-old Patricia Whitehead, and the victim shared the same residential space,” the release said.
Police said Whitehead became angry with the victim and “alleged the victim did not clean up after himself.”

On Thursday, the victim slammed the door as he was leaving the home, and police said Whitehead “obtained a gun from a bedroom, exited the home and shot the victim multiple times.”

Whitehead is currently being held without bail at Orient Road Jail, according to online booking records. A court date has not yet been set. Fox News Digital was unable to contact her assigned public defender at the time of writing.
