Florida woman allegedly threatened Blue Cross Blue Shield after denied medical claims

A Florida woman is behind bars after allegedly threatening a Blue Cross Blue Shield employee during a phone call about a recently denied insurance claim.

Brianna Boston, 42, was recorded saying, “Delay, deny, step down. You're next,” according to Polk County jail records, and was charged with threatening to commit mass shootings and acts of terrorism. He was indicted. FOX 13 Tampa Bay reported.

Boston was angry about recently denied medical claims and her use of a recent murder case. United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson Lakeland Police Department said it was an attempt to blackmail the company.

When a Lakeland police officer visited Boston's home, he allegedly admitted to making the threat and apologized.

She told police she did not own a firearm and was not dangerous.

An arrest affidavit reviewed by FOX 13 also revealed that the city of Boston said health care companies “deserve karma from the world because they are evil” and that they were playing a game.

The Boston arrest comes days after Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate, was arrested on suspicion of killing Thompson in cold blood on December 4 in New York City.

The words “Delay,” “Reject,” and “Abandonment” were reportedly written on the shell casings at the scene of this brazen murder.

Reaction to Thompson's killing was divided on social media, with some hailing Mangione as a “hero” for pursuing the insurance CEO, while others condemned the violence.

In the wake of Thompson's murder, UnitedHealthcare removed the executive's photo and name from its website.

Fear of copycat criminals Other insurance companies and pharmacies, including some Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, are leading similar efforts.
