Sykes also allegedly instructed the child to kill two foster parents with whom the child was temporarily living.
Sykes taught a 10-year-old boy how to kill the adult he was temporarily living with by cutting his throat with a knife while he was sleeping, spraying aerosol spray on his bed sheets and setting the house on fire. was. fire. The 10-year-old boy wet the sheets but was unable to carry out instructions.
The baby suffered a skull fracture, but is expected to survive.
Sheriff Chip W. Simmons said he was “truly disturbed” by the allegations in the case.
“I have been in law enforcement for over 40 years and have never seen anything like this,” Simmons said in a statement. “There's really something wrong with her.”
Sykes is being held without bail, and a sheriff's office spokeswoman said she does not expect her daughter to face any charges. The woman was charged with attempted murder with aggravated child abuse.
