The report said airport employees entered a women's toilet across from the airline's check-in counter, where the woman appeared to be at one of the stalls for an unusually long time, cleaning “a lot of water and lot of dog food” from the floor.

Employees had to leave for a short time due to another “cleanup emergency” and returned about 20 minutes later, realising that the bathroom garbage bags were “heavy than normal.”

Necrosis was determined to have been likely killed by the dog drowning/submerged in water.

Surveillance video showed Lawrence talking to an airline employee and another employee at the check-in counter at the airport. Police later reported that the dogs were not allowed on the plane because the airline didn't have the proper documentation they needed.

“It is believed that Allison Agatha Lawrence had taken an extreme and tragic behavior by killing the dog after Allison Agatha Lawrence was denied a dog boarding due to inappropriate documents,” Orlando police said in an arrest affidavit.

Police said after the dog's death, Lawrence proceeded with security and eventually boarded a flight to Columbia.
