South Carolina authorities said Friday that a 27-year-old Florida woman was found three days later. Missing in the countryside Aug. 13, Allendale County.
The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Department (SLED) said Jessica Lapsis, of Jacksonville, had been found “safe and sound,” but did not provide details about where or how authorities found her.
“It was a team effort to find Jessica,” Allendale County Sheriff James Freeman said in a statement Friday. “We all worked together and never gave up hope.”
Authorities were initially dispatched to the Steele Creek Plantation area after receiving a report of Lapsis’ disappearance.

Authorities previously told Fox News Digital that deputies with the Allendale County Sheriff’s Office found her car stuck on the tracks with the keys in it Tuesday night.
Allen County Sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Robinson told Fox News Digital it remains unclear why Lapsis, a Jacksonville resident, was in the Creek Plantation area on Tuesday.

Lapsis’ father, Vid Lapsis, previously told Fox News Digital that the sheriff’s office and SLED have “worked incredibly hard and are searching tirelessly using every avenue possible.”
She was transported to a local hospital for examination and necessary treatment, SLED said Friday.
