He murdered 35-year-old Christine Melton and 43-year-old Diane Lewis within hours of each other in October 2019. Strangulation Melton met Lewis at a bar in his Cape Coral home, spent the night with him, and then strangled and ran him over with Melton's car the next morning when Lewis asked for directions. “The evidence shows that the murders were heinous, brutal and cruel, and the second murder was cold-blooded, planned and premeditated,” Judge Nicholas Thompson said after the jury recommended Wilson receive the death penalty for both murders.
State's Attorney Amira Fox said at a news conference attended by family members of the victims that Wilson “will pay the ultimate price.”
“This is not the end. It will be the end when he takes his last breath and I will be there for the execution. That's my promise,” Lewis's grieving father, Felix Lewis, said.
