Following the announcement of former President Donald Trump’s guilty verdict on 34 charges on Thursday, Fox News Channel personality and former Westchester County, New York, judge Jeanine Pirro criticized the verdict’s impact on the rule of law.
Pirro called the court a “camouflage court” and said its rulings were the product of a Third World country.
“Well, I think the American people are shocked by this case, as we are all shocked in different ways,” Pirro said. “As a former prosecutor and a judge who knows state courts and state law, I know this case is full of reversible error. I know there was no basis to charge this crime. This alleged crime reinstates a defunct misdemeanor based on a federal violation of election or tax law. So there it is, but there’s also a wound in the American criminal justice system. People are finding out they’re no longer safe, and that’s because of the progressive left’s policies to keep people out of jail. You know, they’ve made 33 arrests, but you know, they’re still attacking and violently attacking people on the streets here.”
“But now we have a former president of the United States, one of the most famous people in the world, being arrested for a crime that doesn’t exist, by prosecutors funded by George Soros, without anyone ever putting a finger on the books, and they come back with a verdict and say, ‘Yes, he’s guilty, he’s guilty, absolutely guilty.’ This potential jury is made up of 85 to 90 percent anti-Trump, pro-everyone, anti-Trump people. Or so we thought,” she continued.
“Like all of us judges, this is not a judge chosen by chance,” Pirro added. He was a judge chosen not only for the Trump Organization, not only for this case, but also for another case, the Bannon case. This is an anti-Trump judge, an anti-Trump prosecutor. America will respond to this. This is a shock. We want to see politicians fighting. We don’t want to see what they do in third world countries, which is one side indicting and incarcerating the other. This is not American. This is not who we are. And to see this happen before our eyes when we know this is unjust, when the defendants are not informed of the crimes they are charged with, and don’t even know what the crimes are until they present them to the jury, is as if the prosecutors and the judges said so with a wink and a nod. “Hey, let’s have an accomplice case. We’re accusing Donald Trump of aiding and abetting someone else, but as a legal matter he’s an accomplice, we’re adding in federal election violations. So they’re going to have to say, ‘Yeah, I’m sure Donald Trump did it, too. And let’s add in a hooker and a serial perjurer.’ This is insanity. Any red-blooded American who looks at this will understand that this is not what we do to our political opponents. This is what they do in camouflage courts in third world countries. God help America, after what we’ve seen these last few weeks.”
