Chef Darnell Ferguson was arrested this week in Louisville, Kentucky, following a domestic dispute.
Ferguson was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections for the Jan. 2 incident, according to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital. He pleaded not guilty.

“Mr. Darnell and his wife are separated and are working together to find a new balance for their family,” attorney Krishna Tibbs told People.

A representative for his estranged wife did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Local WHAS 11 reported that Ferguson illegally entered the home, grabbed the victim's neck with both hands and began strangling her. She also claimed that she could no longer breathe and lost consciousness. Mr. Ferguson allegedly threatened to kill her.
Police took photos of the injuries, which included “redness on the neck, scratches, soreness, and scratches on the upper thighs,” according to a warrant obtained by People magazine. . she was taken to the hospital.

Authorities told WHAS11 that Ferguson is suspected of stealing the victim's credit cards, debit cards and identification before leaving the victim's home.
Ferguson was also charged with third-degree terroristic threatening, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence misdemeanor), third-degree criminal mischief, and receiving stolen credit or debit card. .

Ferguson appeared in court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital. He was released on $10,000 bail and ordered to have no contact with the victim.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 18 at 9 a.m.

Ferguson has appeared on numerous shows on the Food Network, including; “Guy's Grocery Game” “Chopping” and “supermarket stakeout.” In January 2023, he co-hosted Season 25 of America's Worst Cooks with chef Ann Burrell.
Food Network did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
