Calm video footage shows Macklemore’s nanny seeking help from a neighbor after an alleged home invasion at the singer’s house on June 7. According to the Seattle Police, the suspect confronted the victims inside the residence. One victim was held down while the suspect looted valuable items worth thousands of dollars. The suspect was in the home for several minutes until the victim managed to escape and call the police.
On June 9, it was reported that three of the famous singer’s children were found inside the house during the robbery investigation.
The nanny can be seen in video footage asking for assistance outside a Seattle home, as noted by TMZ. Police reports indicate that they received calls regarding the robbery shortly before 1 AM.
She described the intruders as two men wearing masks, gloves, and tactical-style vests. The Seattle Times stated that the home belonged to a “famous individual,” and the address matches Macklemore’s voting records. However, it’s unclear if the singer was home during the incident.
According to the nanny, she had just put the children to bed when the men entered through the patio door. One of them even wiped spray from her eyes for reasons she couldn’t quite understand, which she described as “terrifying.”
The other suspect asked her where the “jewels” were, and she led them to valuables in the house. They reportedly took jewelry, watches, and shoes, before pushing her down to make a call.
Authorities mentioned that “thousands of dollars” in items were stolen. The nanny claimed that she tried to bite one of the men to escape but there were no reports of firearms being involved. Fortunately, the children were not harmed.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Macklemore had not publicly commented on the unsettling incident.
