Football Player JT Lindsey from LSU Arrested for Concealing Murder Suspect in Dormitory

A freshman from Louisiana State was arrested on Friday alongside two individuals implicated in a second-degree murder case.

Prosecutors allege that the freshman, Lindsay, had two suspects—17-year-old Shemel Jacobs and 18-year-old Keldric Jordan—who were being pursued by law enforcement in connection with the May murder of 17-year-old Corey Brooks.

The university suspended Lindsay from the team following the onset of the allegations against him.

He was released later that night after posting a bond set at $5,000.

LSU police reported discovering both suspects at Jaiden Lindsey’s apartment in Riverbend Hall.

According to LSUPD, Jacobs had Lindsay’s LSU ID and could provide his personal PIN, which granted him access to the dormitory. The investigation included reviewing surveillance footage that showed Lindsay interacting with Jacobs and Jordan, who also used their IDs to enter the building.

Authorities mentioned recovering two AR-15 rifles, along with a Draco and a Glock, from the apartment.

Defense attorneys stated that Lindsay was unaware that the suspects were involved in any criminal activities when they were in his apartment. They emphasized that Lindsay was not complicit in any crimes committed by them.

“JT Lindsay maintains his innocence regarding any alleged criminal wrongdoing,” the attorney, Pellett, remarked. “He is cooperating fully with the authorities and hopes to clear his name soon.”

“Had he known that one of them was accused of a crime or being sought by the police, he would not have allowed them into his apartment,” the attorney added.

Nevertheless, investigators believe that Lindsay and the other players were aware of the murder investigation surrounding the two young men, asserting that Lindsay may have intentionally attempted to conceal them from law enforcement.

Lindsay was previously recognized as a four-star prospect at the start of the 2025 season.
