Los Angeles Chargers Linebacker Denzel Perryman Arrested
Denzel Perryman, a linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers, remains in custody following a recent arrest on weapons charges, officials reported on Saturday.
According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, multiple firearms were discovered during a traffic stop on Friday, and at least two of these were identified as assault weapons.
The incident unfolded when, on August 1, 2025, deputies pulled Perryman over for a vehicle code violation. During this stop, they reportedly found five guns in his vehicle, among them two rifles designed for combat.
Interestingly, NFL veterans were present with authorities during this traffic encounter, as noted in the incident report. Perryman was booked on felony charges shortly after 10 PM, but he is not currently at the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station, officials confirmed.
Perryman’s agent, Ron Butler, mentioned that they are coordinating with legal experts. “Denzel and our team are still gathering information and working closely with our lawyers,” Butler told ESPN, adding that they can’t disclose many details at this stage but are confident about managing the situation through proper legal channels.
The sheriff’s office has stated that Perryman is set to appear in court on Tuesday in Inglewood. Meanwhile, the Chargers organization has acknowledged the situation and indicated they are collecting more information.
Perryman, who had a stint with the Chargers from 2017 to 2020, made a return to the team in 2024 after time with the Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders.
