A recent incident involving a reported sexual encounter at Cornell University has sparked significant public attention, particularly regarding the shifting narrative from the woman involved. Initially, her texts suggested the encounter was consensual; however, she altered her account nearly two weeks later.
Pat Gray, a host on BlazeTV, described the situation as “a crazy story” and shared his reluctance to discuss it at length due to its sensitive nature. “It’s hard to even know what to say about it. But there was a little incident involving a woman and a bunch of men,” he remarked during an episode of “Pat Gray Unleashed.”
According to Gray, the accused initially communicated with the woman, confirming that things had “gotten a little out of control,” to which she responded, assuring him that there was no need to worry and labeling the night’s activities as “not illegal.” Gray quipped, noting, “If I’m not mistaken, rape is illegal, so it apparently wasn’t that.”
As time went on, the woman seemed to change her perspective, possibly due to pressure from those around her. In one exchange, a man named Newell expressed sympathy, saying he hoped she wasn’t facing as much backlash as they were receiving. She responded, admitting, “My memory’s super clouded too. I think we were all way too freaking drunk and high.”
Yet, thirteen days later, she claimed that “90% of the night was not consensual.” Gray questioned this shift, pointing out that details like whether she had verbally objected remain unclear, especially considering they were all under the influence of alcohol and drugs like ketamine. He commented, “There’s no personal responsibility on your part because you’re the one who took it, so now you can use that as an excuse for everything that transpired afterward.”
Gray further stated that while the phrase “no means no” is widely accepted, it’s still uncertain whether she even articulated a “no.” The unfolding story raises numerous complexities around consent, responsibility, and the influences of intoxication.
