New Music from KING & COUNTRY
After taking a year off from touring, the Grammy Award-winning Australian duo, KING & COUNTRY, has released a fresh single titled “Word on Fire.” This marks their first original music release in over two years.
Collaborating with Taylor Hill, the song was launched last month and was also performed during the recent Dove Awards ceremony. A little background: Luke Smallbone, one half of the duo alongside his brother Joel, shared his thoughts on the inspiration behind the song. He referenced a quote by John Wesley, saying, “People don’t come to watch me preach, they come to watch me burn.” This got him reflecting on how bright his own “light” was and encouraged him to let his passion for God shine even more.
The music video for the single was filmed in the Dominican Republic, showcasing the Smallbone brothers and Hill engaging with local residents through singing and dancing.
This single is set to be featured in KING & COUNTRY’s upcoming album, which is expected to drop in 2026. This project will follow their hit feature film from 2024, “Unsung Hero,” which tells the story of the Smallbone family’s journey from Australia to America.
Smallbone expressed that he had never perceived himself as a workaholic. However, he recognized that he had perhaps been too focused on achieving things. He reflected on how, when stripped of various accomplishments, he was able to rediscover the core reasons behind his work. He emphasized the importance of joy in life, saying, “Never underestimate the power of having fun.”
As accolades go, KING & COUNTRY has won four Grammy Awards, ten GMA Dove Awards, and achieved thirteen No. 1 hits, accumulating over 3 billion streams throughout their career.
