Grammy-nominated duo For King & Country will bring their cherished holiday concert tradition, “Drummer Boy Christmas,” to theaters nationwide for the first time from December 5th to 9th. The new project comes just months after singers Joel and Luke Smallbone featured their family story in the biopic Unsung Hero. The brothers promise to deliver “a sonic journey that marries the sights and sounds of the season with expert music, heartwarming storytelling, and dazzling production.”
Joel Smallbone told Crosswalk Headlines that the film couldn't have come at a better time. “We need Christmas now more than ever. We need to talk about love, joy and peace, and celebrate the wonderful qualities of who we are as human beings.”
The show was originally a live concert the band performed at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, which was attended by 12,000 people. Since the Christmas season is short, they plan to present musical experiences at theaters across the country.
Overall, Smallbone said all future projects are about honoring the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of Jesus Christ.
