State Department Responds to Celebrations of Charlie Kirk’s Death

The U.S. State Department recently stated that it has “no obligation to host foreigners who wish death on Americans,” in reference to those who celebrated the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Tuesday would have marked Kirk’s 32nd birthday, had he not been tragically shot at an event at Utah Valley University last month. To honor his memory, President Donald Trump posthumously awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. On social media, many chose to commemorate the day by ordering his favorite drink from Starbucks—a Mint Majesty tea with two honeys.

Furthermore, the State Department made it clear on social media that foreign nationals who publicly celebrated Kirk’s death are unwelcome, calling out visa holders who expressed their sentiments.

A recent post stated, “The State Department continues to identify visa holders who celebrated the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk. Here are just a few examples of aliens who are no longer welcome in the U.S.:”

An Argentine national reportedly expressed that Kirk “devoted his entire life spreading racist, xenophobic, misogynistic rhetoric” and “deserves to burn in hell.” Following this, their visa was revoked.

The department shared screenshots of offensive social media posts from some foreign nationals, though they omitted names for privacy.

One Argentinian individual was quoted, “If you have any empathy at all for people like this, you can go ahead and remove yourself as my friend. I do not give a f*** about the death of a person who devoted his entire life to spreading racist, xenophobic, misogynistic rhetoric.”

The department also pointed out a South African citizen who derogatorily labeled American conservatives as “Neanderthals,” referring to the event Kirk hosted as a “racist rally.”

This particular event was part of Turning Point USA’s “The American Comeback Tour,” aimed at engaging students on college campuses. Following Kirk’s death, his wife, Erika Kirk, took on the role of CEO, vowing the tour would carry on, and planned additional tours in the future.

A Mexican national went as far as to say, “Kirk died being a racist, he died being a misogynist.” The department confirmed their visa revocation as well.

Additionally, a Brazilian visitor blamed Kirk for a supposed “Nazi rally,” stating he “DIED TOO LATE.”

The State Department also included a German citizen’s post, which commented, “When fascists die, democrats don’t complain.”

Finally, a Paraguayan national called Kirk “a son of a b****” and asserted, “he died by his own rules.” This individual’s visa was also revoked.

The State Department assured that President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are committed to enforcing immigration laws to protect borders, culture, and citizens.

“Aliens who take advantage of America’s hospitality while celebrating the assassination of our citizens will be removed,” the agency concluded.

Immigration attorney Eric Lee, a co-founder of the Consular Accountability Project, posted shortly after the thread, offering pro bono representation for those affected by visa revocations related to remarks about Charlie Kirk.

In an earlier statement, Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau remarked that “foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country.” He expressed disgust over social media reactions that praised Kirk’s death and urged consular officials to act accordingly.
