Former Attorney General Eric Holder told comedian Bill Maher on Friday’s show “Real Time with Bill Maher” that it’s “unfair” to compare President Joe Biden to former President Barack Obama. He said no.
Even though Biden received more votes than Obama, Holder told Maher it wasn’t “fair” to compare Biden to the “popular” Obama.Biden received more than 81 million votes. 2020Obama, on the other hand, received about 69 million votes. 2008 Approximately 65 million votes year 2012.
“The fact is that in every poll I’ve read, Democrats are losing support. I mean, if you look at non-white, working-class voters, there’s been a 61-point change.” That’s an incredible amount compared to 2012. That’s 12 years later. In 2012, when you were attorney general, Obama won by 67 points in that demographic. Biden. We won by 48 points. Now he’s only up until 6 o’clock. What’s going on there? Maher asked. “Well, first of all, I think you’re comparing March to November,” Holder said. “This is, if you look at where people are right now, I think by probably November we’re going to see a movement of working class people of all races toward Biden.”
“You’re also making the comparison for the first time to an African-American who was incredibly popular and really excited people in all walks of life,” he continued. “So, in some ways, I don’t think that’s a fair comparison. But I don’t think we should be too alarmed about the March polls. We have to take those into account, but March is more important than October or It’s fundamentally different than November. We’ll see how these things turn out at that time of the calendar year.”
Bill Maher: “According to the polls I’ve read, the fact is that the Democratic Party is losing its base. When you look at non-white, working-class voters, there’s a 61-point change.” won by 67 points and Biden won by 48 points. Now he’s only up 6 points. What’s going on?”

“Um, okay. But-” Maher began before the audience could laugh.
“That means we have a job to do,” Holder interjected. “But if we take it seriously and stay focused, I think the media is going to make this into a binary, with people who have a certain age and cognitive impairment (that would be Trump) and people who don’t.” I’m actually optimistic that if we start looking at choosing between ‘I think we’ll be fine for people who have actually accomplished a lot. ”
