Former Biden Deputy Press Bureau Andrew Bates suggested in an interview with MSNBC on Saturday that President Donald Trump may not have the “energy” to do his job, and that he is in charge. He said he was “desperate” to show it.
Bates has joined MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart. He asked about Trump's clash with Democratic Maine Gov. Janet Mills, more than transgender women in sports. Trump told her at the White House that she had to follow his executive orders or that the state would not receive federal funds.
“Yeah, I think this is someone who is eager to show that he is in charge. I don't know if he has the energy to do this job, but basically he is That's why he's making Elon Musk the acting president, and he sees him trying to take power to himself as much as he can,” Bates said.
Bates also questioned whether Trump felt his role was “safe.”

“He's rioting up the world's wealthiest people through our social security information, our IRS data. So I know if he feels safe about his role in this government. Not that, but it's clear that many Americans are getting, especially when we see backlash at the town hall for these components, we're increasingly worried,” Bates said.
Another guest on Cape Hart, Jennifer Horn, co-founder of the Anti-Trump Lincoln Project, issued a disastrous warning in response to Trump's clash with the governor of Maine.
“And everyone is the idea that the Executive Office is that the US president has no guardrails and has unlimited authority or decision-making power, and he can declare himself as a federal government. That's the definition of a dictator,” she said.
Horn warned that Americans were standing on a “cliff.”
